Breaking Barriers

Breaking Bread

Why?

In 2024, our co-founders, Steven and Esaw, set out to change the world.

Social Grain was strategically initiated to provide a learning venue to create a connection through cuisine, specifically bread.

At the heart of every culture is some form of cuisine.

At the center of that cuisine is a type of bread; the simplest yet most profound food known to the world. Although every culture boasts its own uniquely delicious breads, there is a clear connection across seemingly different backgrounds. The science and art behind its creation, the history and ancestral importance lying deep in each grain, and the comfort and memory found in every bite are just a few examples of how bread connects every one of us.

Bread is Life

The Ease

Our kits not only highlight how logically simple it is to make various types of bread, but they also provide a humbling experience in learning about the centuries and millennia of perfecting a craft that have gone into each loaf.

The Story

Every loaf has a story! Our kits come with a quick story behind the bread and its importance to the culture, along with the opportunity to very briefly witness the history that lives behind the staple food.

The Experience

Tasting, smelling, and even listening to bread is a sensory journey that our kits provide with each use. Bread is an experience like no other as it allows us to create a lifeline out of next to nothing while enjoying the magic of the entire process!
